Hello. This is Realworld, the playable content platform. 2024 is truly coming to an end. We hope you've achieved everything you wished for this year, and Realworld would like to take time to reflect on our whirlwind year of 2024. To this end, we surveyed Realworld members about the most impressive projects of 2024, and they selected various projects. We present Realworld's diverse projects that made 2024 shine.
ANOTHER WORLD: Hide and Seek
A treasure hunt at an amusement park running all night? What we could only imagine actually happened! The collaborative project 'ANOTHER WORLD: Hide and Seek' between Lotte World, Yanolja, and Realworld sold over 6,000 tickets in pre-sales, and on the event day of October 25th, Lotte World was truly packed with crowds.
Participants enjoyed nighttime attractions and had a great time finding treasures hidden throughout Lotte World. According to our internal tally, 93% of all visitors tagged at least one treasure, which suggests people visited Lotte World for the treasure hunt rather than the nighttime attractions.
Realworld Clue Seongsu & Konkuk Opening
2024 will be remembered as a year of challenge for Realworld. In February, we opened Korea's first murder mystery cafe 'Realworld Clue Seongsu', then in October, we expanded and relocated to Konkuk. In particular, 'Realworld Clue Konkuk' serves as our flagship store, featuring over 10 individual spaces and a new murder village-themed open world space in a 100-pyeong area, combining board games and escape room cafes.
Despite murder mystery being an unfamiliar genre, Realworld Clue has been well-loved with an average reservation rate of 80%, and plans to expand nationwide through franchise business including direct operation and franchising. Please look forward to our future endeavors.
Hotel Pygmalion
Immersive content is sweeping the world. Realworld also took on the challenge of immersive theater to keep up with global trends! Realworld's 'Hotel Pygmalion' gained popularity even before its release, with all sessions selling out within 39 hours of ticket opening.
To apprehend a high-risk android that has infiltrated a hotel run by androids, participants attend the hotel's opening party. Can you find that android and uncover the secrets hidden in this hotel? Unlike traditional theater where audiences sit and watch, various stories unfold simultaneously, so the story participants can experience differs depending on which characters they choose to follow. You must interact with as many characters as possible to get closer to the truth of the incident.
'Hotel Pygmalion' shone even brighter with its solid script and passionate performances by six actors: Lee Dong-yoon, Jeon Ju-il, Oh Ja-song, Kim Song-hyun, Jo Tae-young, and Lee Ki-chun. Though the curtain has fallen now, we look forward to meeting another immersive theater work soon.
Dreamcatcher X Realworld Collaboration Promotion
This is how K-pop idol comeback promotions are done these days! The collaboration event between Dreamcatcher and Realworld was conducted as part of the promotion for Dreamcatcher's 10th mini-album 'VirtuouS'. The online content 'Parallel World Survival Test' was released from June 26th, and the offline content 'VersuS' at Realworld Seongsu was unveiled from July 11th.
For the online content, befitting the global K-pop group Dreamcatcher, we could see the influence of overseas fandom. The English global version had more than double the plays compared to the Korean version, and nearly five times more reviews. We could easily find tweets from international fans sharing their survival test results on X (formerly Twitter).
At Realworld Seongsu, ordering drinks or games provided one random photocard from the seven members. Perhaps due to these limited rewards, many fans gathered and lined up even before Realworld Seongsu opened. Of course, rather than just being a pop-up store providing photocards, the playable content 'VersuS' that showcased Realworld's strengths also shined. This game was transmedia storytelling content connected to Dreamcatcher's existing universe, becoming an essential experience for Dreamcatcher fans.
Real Treasure Festival 2024
The 'Real Treasure Festival', which held its first event in November 2023, was registered in the Guinness World Records for 'Largest scavenger hunt' with 3,040 citizen participants. In October 2024, the 'Real Treasure Festival' returned. This year's event recorded over 5,500 pre-registrations, establishing itself as Korea's representative treasure hunting festival.
This 'Real Treasure Festival' consisted of various programs beyond the main treasure hunt program. 'Dungeon Treasure' for weekend-only bunker adventures, 'Mystery Theme Park' requiring solving various puzzles for success, 'Find the Treasure Thief' where you draw a montage of the thief who stole the treasure to catch the culprit, and 'Alien Capture Operation' to find aliens that appeared at the Real Treasure Festival - all delighting participants.
We can't imagine autumn without the Real Treasure Festival now. We look forward to what fun it will bring next year.
Let's Do Realworld in 2025 Too!
Realworld worked harder than anyone in 2024. Looking back on the past year like this, it was truly a year filled with many projects. Realworld's challenges won't stop in 2025 either. Realworld will continue to strive so that the phrase 'Let's do Realworld' can be used naturally by anyone, anywhere, anytime. Thank you.
