Creating Realworld Clue Series A to Z: [Magic Lodge Murder Case] Episode (2)

Hello, I'm Alyssa, the creator of Realworld Clue.

In this post, following up on the previous
<How to Create Realworld Clue> Part 1,
I'm going to reveal the crime scene theme game studio setup method.

This post is best read by those who have
tried creating games with Realworld Studio (the above site)
or those who are familiar with how to use it.

If you don't know how to use the studio, please
first learn how to use it from the
<Realworld Studio User Manual> below.

In this post, I'll show you step by step
the process of creating <Magic Lodge Murder Case>
with Realworld Studio.

However, I've skipped explanations for
very basic content or parts that can be
checked through the Realworld app.

※ Contains strong spoilers about the game ※
I strongly recommend reading this after
playing [Magic Lodge Murder Case].
Some explanations may be hard to understand
if you haven't actually played it.

<Magic Lodge Murder Case> consists of
a total of 8 mission cards and
a total of 4 chatbot scenes.

First, let me show you how to set up
the 8 mission cards!

After adding each mission card, please set
the 'Mission Name', 'Cover Image', and 'Content'.

Since the content of mission cards can all be
checked in the app, in this post I'll mainly
show the quest settings for each mission card.

Mission Card 1 Setup Method

Mission Card 1 has a total of
2 quests as follows.

The 1st quest [Terrible Magic Accident!] should be
set to Public/Unlocked visibility,
and the 2nd quest [BGM Restart Button] should be
set to Private/Unlocked visibility.

The 2nd quest is intentionally set to private
so it won't be visible to first-time players.

Next, click the [Terrible Magic Accident!]
button, set the action type to
'No Action',
and set the trigger condition to
'No Condition'.

When set to No Action and No Condition,
players will go straight to the reaction screen
without solving any quest.

The reaction should be set up as follows.

Quest completion, mission completion,
and move to specific mission are all
basic reaction settings, so they go into
most quest configurations.

Show quest button is to change the
2nd quest that was set to private earlier
to public, allowing repeat players
to click the 2nd quest.

The action and reaction for the 2nd quest
[BGM Restart Button] are as follows.

As you play the game, the BGM changes,
so for repeat players, I added a BGM change
reaction that switches the last BGM
back to the first BGM.

With this, you've completed all the
quest settings for Mission Card 1.

Mission Card 2 Setup Method

Mission Card 2 has a total of
5 quests as follows.

Set the visibility for all quests to
Public/Unlocked.

Since all quests in this mission card have
identical action and reaction settings,
if I show you the settings for the
[Master (Female, 32)] quest,
you can set all other quests identically.

Now click the [Master (Female, 32)]
button, set the action type to
'No Action',
and set the trigger condition to
'No Condition'. Same as before, right?

Next is the reaction setting.

Set it up like this, and do the same
for all other quests.

You'll understand why we do item acquisition
in the next explanation.

Mission Card 3 Setup Method

Mission Card 3 has a total of
5 quests as follows.

Here too, since the 5 quests all have
identical settings, if I show you the
first quest setup, you can set all
other quests identically.

First, set the quest visibility to
Public/Unlocked.

Now click the [[Master] Information File]
button, set the action type to
'No Action',
set the trigger condition to
'Possesses specific item',
and set the item to 'Master's Memory'.

This way, only those who previously
pressed the 'Master' character button
and acquired the item can read
the information file, right?

The item is set up to prevent other
characters from easily reading
the Master's information file.

Next, for the reaction setting, first add
'Display HTML' and fill in the content.
I filled in the Master's information file
content, which is the character information.

And below the HTML, set it up as follows.

Don't forget to fill in the 'Wrong Answer Reaction' this time too!

If you've followed along this far,
now create the remaining quests the same way.

Mission Card 4 Setup Method

Mission Card 4 has quite a few quests.
A total of 8!

Set the visibility settings from top to bottom as:
Public/Unlocked,
Private/Unlocked,
Private/Unlocked,
Private/Unlocked,
Private/Unlocked,
Private/Unlocked,
Public/Locked,
Private/Unlocked

For Quest 1 [(Must Read) Game Rules],
set action to 'No Action' and trigger condition to 'No Condition',
then write the game rules in HTML Display.

Set the remaining reactions as follows.

From [[Master] Call Lawyer] to
[[Detective] Call Detective Assistant],
set the quest settings identically.

Set Action Type to 'Use WebView Page'
and put the phone call template in
Action Settings.

To see the webview template used here,
please click the link below.

Our creators only need to fill in this part,
no need to look at other sections.

If you want to set the lawyer's phone number
to 012-345-6789, you would write
'0123456789' in the 'Set correct number' field.

If using the phone call webview is difficult,
you can set it to 'No Action' and
set only the reaction as follows.

Set the trigger condition to the 'Master's Memory'
item as before.

In the reaction, 'Chatbot' finally appears.
Set up the 'Send Chatbot Message' reaction
as follows.

Below that, set up HTML Display and
other reactions.

Also set up the wrong answer reaction
at the very bottom.

The wrong answer reaction is the message
that appears when you don't have the Master item.

Once you've completed this quest setup,
set all [Call 00] quests identically.

When all are done, now click the
[1st Briefing] quest button.

Set action to 'No Action' and trigger condition to 'No Condition',
then write the content in HTML Display.

Set the bottom reaction as follows.

Now click the last quest button,
[[1st Briefing Complete] Next].
Note that this quest includes a 'Quest Description'.

Open the quest settings and in the
'Quest Description' field,
write the question as follows.

Set the action and reaction trigger conditions
as follows.

We're almost there!
Let's move on to Mission Cards 5-7.

Mission Card 5-7 Setup Method

Mission Cards 5-7 have similar structures,
and their quest settings are also identical
to 2 quests from Mission Card 4,
so there's no need for separate explanation.

Can you see the bottom two quests
from the mission card you edited earlier?

The [1st Briefing] quest and
[[1st Briefing Complete] Next] quest -
similarly, you can set Mission Card 5's
[2nd Briefing] quest and
[[2nd Briefing Complete] Next] quest
identically!

Of course the content inserted will be different,
but since the basic structure is identical,
you should be able to do it yourself.

Mission Card 8 Setup Method

Let's move on to the last Mission Card 8.
Mission Card 8 has 1 quest.

Set visibility to Public/Unlocked
and write the following in the quest description:

'Have you voted?
Please write the name of the person
who received the most votes. (3 characters)'

Then click the quest button to
set up the action and trigger condition.

Fill the HTML Display with the content
revealing the truth of the case,
then set the bottom reaction as follows.

Here, 'Show Review Writing Screen'
adds a button that connects to reviews,
'Show Browser Open Button' opens a new window
connecting to a specific browser.
'Show Game Sharing Box' adds a sharing box
at the top,
and 'Game Completion Processing' adds
a game exit button.

Set up identical reactions for input values
'Noolyuk', 'Ryushinip', 'Geumsaba' respectively,
then set up the wrong answer reaction at the bottom.

With this, you've completed all quest settings
for all mission cards~~~! Hooray!

Chatbot Scene 1 Setup Method

From now on, I'll show you step by step
how to set up chatbots.

In chatbot editing, create a total of 5 chatbots
as follows.

Since each character's chatbot settings are
all identical, here I'll only explain
the 'Master's Lawyer' chatbot.

First, create a total of 4 scenes
in the Master's Lawyer chatbot like this.

We create 4 scenes because there are
a total of 4 briefings in the game.

If players input [Statement], [Evidence], [Help me]
and the same chatbot is sent from start to finish,
that wouldn't work, right?

Each briefing needs different [Statement],
different [Evidence], different [Help me] responses,
so we need 4 scenes.

Now, click 'Master1'.

As shown in the attached image below,
in Action Handler Edit, select
'Input equals specific value' as trigger condition
and write 'Statement' in the right field.

Select 'Send Chatbot Message' for reaction,
choose 'Master's Lawyer', and fill in
the statement content in the blank field.

Set transmission delay to '1'.

With this setup, when a player sends [Statement]
to 'Master's Lawyer', they'll receive
the response "Master, just say this: ~"
in 1 second.

Next, click [+Add Definition] and set up
the trigger condition and reaction as follows.
Transmission delays are 1, 3, 5, 7 seconds respectively.

Add 1 more definition and
set it up as follows.

Then add 4 more definitions and
set each up as follows.

We do this to set up keywords that can
move from any scene to other scenes.

Since we're currently setting up Scene 1,
when [1st Verification Start] or [Go Back]
is entered, it should respond
"This is already 1st verification~".

But if a player inputs [2nd Verification Start]
or [3rd Verification Start] in the chatbot,
it means they've moved to the 2nd or 3rd briefing,
so we need to move them to Scene 2 or 3.

Chatbot Scene Movement is the function
used for this.

When done, set up the wrong answer reaction.

Chatbot reaction settings are much simpler
than mission card reaction settings, right?

Chatbot Scene 2 Setup Method

Chatbot Scenes 2-4 are almost identical to Scene 1.
So I'll only show you the parts different from Scene 1.

Everything else is identical, only the part
where we added 4 definitions is slightly different.

Set up the statement, evidence, help me chatbots
and wrong answer reaction,
then add 4 more definitions.

Set the 4 definitions as follows.

Chatbot Scene 3 Setup Method

For Scene 3, like Scene 2, I'll only show
the parts that differ from other scenes.

Set the 4 definitions as follows.

How to Set Up Chatbot Scene 4

For Scene 4, just like Scenes 2 and 3, I'll show you only the parts that differ from the other scenes.

Set up each of the 4 definitions as follows.

This completes the setup for the 'Expert Attorney' chatbot scene.

All the remaining attorney chatbots should be set up in the same format as the 'Expert Attorney' chatbot!

So far, I've explained in detail how to create [Murder at the Magic Lodge] using Realworld Studio.

It might seem a bit long and complex, but I'm sure our Realworld creators can definitely follow along!
