Today, we bring you the story of "The Scout," RealWorld's flagship IP, which has reinvented offline experiential content by integrating AI technology.
"The Scout": The Play Structure Proven in Seongsu and Busan
"The Scout" is an outdoor escape room from RealWorld, set in a world where you take on the role of a new agent candidate test for R.E.S., a secret exploration organization, and solve missions across the city.
Its greatest appeal as an experiential content is that the whole city becomes the stage: not just the inside of a fixed room, but streets, alleys, and even building signboards all serve as clues.
In 2025, 11,000-plus people took part in "The Scout in Seongsu," a scale four times that of the previous outdoor escape room world record (about 2,700 people).
The following spring, "The Scout in Busan" partnered with the Busan Tourism Organization and expanded the stage to Busan's old downtown.
Across these two cities, one thing was confirmed: a worldview and play structure that turns the entire city into a game board does not lose its power when the location changes.
So Gangjin kept this framework intact and brought it in as is.

The starting and ending point of the journey is the "Gangjin Time Traveler's House" in Dongseong-ri, Gangjin-eup.
Pick up the physical paper kit and connect to the smartphone web via the on-site QR code, and you're ready to go.
No app installation is needed, so you can start lightly even while traveling.
The operation is called "CELADON CRACK." Follow the "time fissures" that have appeared across Gangjin and solve 7 missions.
The exile records of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong and the traces of Kim Yeong-rang and other poets of the Simunhak school serve as the subject matter of the missions.
Starting from the "Gangjin Time Traveler's House," the 7 missions continue past Sajeoje, Yeongrang Birthplace, and Simunhakpa Memorial Hall, all the way to the front of the Gangjin County Office.
Signboards, directional signs, patterns on the birthplace, and stone monuments serve as puzzle clues, so as you search for answers, you naturally make a full loop of the old downtown's landmarks.
Giving a regional identity to a proven IP: this is how regionally linked experiential content is made.
AI agent hints, an escape room anyone can enjoy
RealWorld has connected on-site clues with digital content using technologies such as AR, GPS, NFC, and QR codes.
In Gangjin, players find answers by matching the paper kit in hand, the scenery in front of them, and the smartphone screen.
In Gangjin, AI technology has lowered the barrier to outdoor escape rooms.
Connect to the smartphone web via the on-site QR code with no app installation,
and when you get stuck, ask the "R.E.S. AI Guide Agent" a question.
It responds with hints through conversation and voice tailored to your question.
Difficulty is split into three levels (Easy, Hard, and Challenge), so everyone from families trying an escape room for the first time to dedicated fans can enjoy it together.
Content where people linger in space
Since 2017, a cumulative 4.2 million people have engaged with RealWorld content,
and more than 100 regional locations across the country continue to serve as RealWorld stages.
RealWorld has been recognized for a model that draws people to regions with AI-based experiential content and extends their footsteps into surrounding commercial districts.
As a result, it received the Grand Prize (Minister of the Interior and Safety Award) at the "2026 Korea Urban and Regional Innovation Awards."
From Seongsu, through Busan, to Gangjin, "The Scout" will be rewritten with a new story in the next city, and RealWorld will keep you posted.
