'This content was produced with support from Cheorwon County.'
Hello. This is Realworld, a playable content platform. When you think of Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province, what comes to mind? Do you think of the civilian access control line, frontline military bases, Cheorwon Odae rice, and the natural environment where cranes visit? However, Cheorwon is actually a region with more diverse tourism resources than you might expect. We hear that Cheorwon's previously unknown aspects have transformed into something even more attractive through meeting Realworld. Let's explore this together from now on.
Cheorwon History and Culture Park: Where You Meet Cheorwon's History
Cheorwon History and Culture Park is a place that recreates a miniature version of Cheorwon's downtown area from the economically prosperous 1930s. At that time, Cheorwon was one of Gangwon Province's three major cities with over 80,000 residents. Here, you can encounter buildings that actually existed back then, such as schools, hospitals, and theaters.
While appreciating the appearance of Cheorwon's downtown during the Japanese colonial period is nice, Realworld collaborated with Cheorwon County to plan and produce two types of content titled 'Illuminating Cheorwon' to provide new experiences that can only be enjoyed at Cheorwon History and Culture Park. These are the storytelling content 'Cheorwon Patriots' and the treasure hunt content 'Crane's Treasure Hunt'.
Carry Out the Mission to Deliver Independence Funds: 'Cheorwon Patriots'
During the Japanese colonial period, Cheorwon developed as a railway transportation hub with the construction of the Gyeongwon Line and Geumgangsan Line. As goods and people gathered and Cheorwon grew into one of Gangwon Province's three major cities, independence movements began early there. Cheorwon was Gangwon Province's foremost anti-Japanese independence movement city, with the March 1st Movement starting first in Gangwon Province and the organization of the anti-Japanese independence group Cheorwon Patriots.
Realworld's 'Cheorwon Patriots', inspired by the actual anti-Japanese independence group Cheorwon Patriots, was designed to let visitors experience various locations and spaces within Cheorwon History and Culture Park. The concept of 'finding clues to deliver independence funds' naturally leads players to visit each location and enhances their understanding of the spaces through completing missions. Rather than just superficially touring a tourist site, visitors have the special experience of becoming independence fighters during the Japanese colonial period.
Fun Treasure Hunting for the Whole Family: 'Crane's Treasure Hunt'
There's also treasure hunt-style content that the whole family can participate in together. 'Crane's Treasure Hunt' is content based on the concept that Cheorwon's cranes, protected by people's warm care, have hidden treasures throughout every corner of Cheorwon History and Culture Park. Since they give gifts when you find the treasures, doesn't it make you want to participate already?
'Crane's Treasure Hunt' consists of three quests. First, there are quests to find treasures hidden in Cheorwon History and Culture Park and to find Pororo and friends. And since there's a special gift when you complete the quest to find Pororo, you'll need to carefully examine Cheorwon History and Culture Park.
Diverse Events Connected with 'National Heritage Media Art' and More
'Cheorwon Patriots' and 'Crane's Treasure Hunt' will run at Cheorwon History and Culture Park from September 26th to October 26th. During this period, the '2025 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Labor Party Building' event is also scheduled, so it looks like you'll be able to experience discovering Cheorwon's charms that are different between day and night.
How about discovering a different side of Cheorwon this weekend with Realworld's two content offerings? Besides Cheorwon History and Culture Park, Cheorwon has various other tourist destinations waiting for you, including Goseokjeong, Sambu Falls, and Taebongguk King Gungye Historical Park. Hoping that many more people will fall in love with Cheorwon's charms, I'll conclude here. Thank you.
