Hello, this is Realworld. Summer has passed and companies are now proceeding with their second-half recruitment schedules. What comes to mind when you think of job fairs? You probably picture companies setting up booths on university campuses to distribute information materials, or senior employees answering questions from prospective applicants.
But shouldn't these same old job fairs change now? What if job fairs could also be enjoyed in a 'playable' way? Today, we'd like to introduce you to a rather unique job fair - the Kia Career Camp, which took place at N Seoul Tower from September 12-14, 2024.
In partnership with professional marketing agency 'One Direction M&C'
The Kia Career Camp was conducted in collaboration with One Direction M&C, a specialized marketing agency for pop-up stores, exhibitions, and stage event productions. One Direction M&C has demonstrated diverse portfolios in the pop-up store field, having planned and operated events like Binggrae Together's 50th Anniversary Pop-up Store and CJ Cheiljedang's Detective Cup Noodles Pop-up Store. For the Kia Career Camp, One Direction M&C handled the overall planning and operations, while Realworld created the main interactive content.
Become a secret agent trainee and uncover hidden secrets: Finding Dr. Ki
The content Realworld prepared for the Kia Career Camp includes 'Finding Dr. Ki,' a private program for pre-registered participants, and 'Project: EV POWER,' a public program. Let me explain them in order.
'Finding Dr. Ki' is a collaborative content where 3-5 participants form a team to solve missions. Dr. Ki, the research director of Kia's secret laboratory 'KSL (Kia Secret Lab)' inside N Seoul Tower, disappears while conducting 'Plan S' research. Participants become secret agents who must find Dr. Ki and uncover the secrets of Plan S - what kind of adventure awaits them?
After a brief briefing, participants begin their missions. Participants must carefully examine various installations placed around N Seoul Tower, searching for hidden clues and moving from place to place, giving it the feel of an outdoor escape room. Participants, sharing the common ground of being Kia job applicants, quickly bonded with each other while solving missions.
While it's unfortunate that not many people could enjoy this private content, participant satisfaction with this new format of job fair appears to be high. Most reviews on the Realworld app were positive, with reactions like 'A recruitment fair targeting Gen MZ - it's the best' and 'It was fascinating and fun.' This new format of job fair, unlike anything before, seems to have appealed to the younger generation.
Public content anyone can enjoy: Project: EV POWER
'Project: EV POWER' is an easy and fun interactive mission game that allows on-site participation without reservations. Participants can succeed in the mission by turning on three power supply devices hidden throughout the venue and charging EV power to 100%. Additionally, successful mission completion provided a random draw opportunity for special gifts.
On the day of the program, N Seoul Tower was bustling with many visitors despite the harsh conditions of heavy rain. Since this is a famous Seoul landmark that many foreign tourists visit, 'Project: EV POWER' was also prepared in an English version, allowing foreign visitors to enjoy it as well.
Realworld content being played by people from around the world - what a moving experience!
Various programs at Kia Career Camp
Beyond Realworld's playable content, the Kia Career Camp was richly composed of various programs, including career talks where female leaders and global employees currently active at Kia shared career growth opportunities and diverse job experiences, as well as job-specific group consultations where participants could directly communicate with current Kia employees.
A new format job fair that became a hot topic
There was great interest in the Kia Career Camp, which was different from previous job fairs - new and playable. It received coverage from various media outlets and even became a popular post on an internet community with many comments. Reactions like 'Escape rooms reveal people's true nature, so it feels like we'd be tested' and 'What if one person in each team was secretly a recruiter acting like a spy?' were particularly impressive.
Did you enjoy seeing how job fairs are changing to become more playable? Like this, Realworld continues to lead the experience industry in various fields. Realworld members are working hard today so that you can encounter Realworld in even more places. We'll make sure to bring you more exciting news next time as well. Thank you.
