Move your Butt! Experiential Future Education with Jeju Ohyeon High School

2025-12-29리얼월드

Hello.
This is Realworld, a playable content platform.

Recently, with the advent of the AI era, there has been an unprecedented demand in school education settings for advanced forms of social-emotional learning (SEL) and timely education that incorporate AI technology! Realworld is already delivering irreplaceable 'experiences' and 'emotions' to students through high-quality educational content that combines cutting-edge technology with immersive storytelling using our PhygitalAI solutions.

Today, as a vivid example, we'd like to share news from the exciting educational scene at Realworld School with 50 first-year students from Jeju Ohyeon High School.
Let's meet the story of that day when students became protagonists themselves, moving around the classroom and demonstrating creativity and teamwork!

An ordinary classroom transforms into a treasure hunt playground!
The ultimate in creativity and collaboration: 〈Treasure Numbers〉

The first session opened with the treasure hunt-style brain game 〈Treasure Numbers〉.

This game instantly transforms the familiar space of a school into an adventure venue like a theme park. Students open the Realworld app and search for QR codes hidden throughout the classroom to acquire numbers from 0 to 20 and various mathematical operators like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

The game rules are simple but require strong collaboration. Each player displays one of the numbers or symbols they've acquired on their smartphone, and team members must physically connect their phones side by side to complete one long mathematical equation. Quick thinking and strategy are crucial because if you don't properly secure the numbers or operators needed to create a specific number in advance, you'll have to run around looking for them again.

Complete the number 73!

The scoring method adds up all the presented numbers and adds additional points allocated per operator (e.g., 20 points).
In the case of the equation below, adding 20, 3, and 13 gives 20+3+13=36 points, and since two operators were used, you get 36+20*2=76 points.

Perhaps because of the treasure hunt format, the students' enthusiasm was truly amazing!
As soon as the mission was announced, not only the classroom but even the corridors bustled with students' footsteps. Rather than simply sitting at desks solving problems, students' eyes sparkled with curiosity and passion as they moved their bodies to directly search for the resources they needed (numbers, symbols). The commotion was so noticeable that students from other classrooms gathered to watch, wondering what was going on.

Ohyeon High students showed remarkable creativity and collective intelligence.
Usually, when asked to "make 73," people complete 73 and stop.
However, to win, students analyzed the scoring rules and continuously redesigned their equations to achieve higher scores. As a result, they completed the remarkable number of 1,500, which is rarely achieved even in corporate training settings!

This was a valuable result created by not settling for given answers but attempting to exceed limits by putting their heads together with teammates.
Let's look at some of the equations the students created.

Flexible thinking that beats AI

What's interesting is that this game announces "you may use AI." However, AI doesn't always provide the right answer. The ability to flexibly combine unconventional number cards from 0 to 20, rather than just 0 to 9, shows that human brains are far superior to standardized data when it comes to modifying strategies and communicating according to situations.
Interestingly, when explaining the game,
we announce: You may use AI!

Thus, 〈Treasure Numbers〉 is not simply a math game.
While it's excellent as an icebreaker that breaks the static classroom atmosphere and brings participants' energy to its peak, it's also a powerful team-building tool that naturally makes people connect their phones and communicate to solve problems that cannot be completed alone.

In the triumphant expressions of the victorious students, we could glimpse the joy of true 'immersion' rather than mere 'studying.'

A hacker is trying to expose our class grades to the world!
Let's stop the hacker and protect our class!

The value of cooperation beyond competition!
〈Hacking Defense〉

The second program that followed was 〈Hacking Defense〉, where students defend confidential documents from hacker attacks.

🚨 Situation Alert: "Our class grades are in danger!"
During what seemed like an ordinary class period, all screens in the classroom suddenly flicker and turn black. Then a mysterious hacker message appears!

"Hello, students?
Your final exam grades and personal information
are now in my hands! lol
In 60 minutes, all this data will be scattered across the dark web.
That means everyone will know your report card!
If you want to stop me, try breaking through my security network!"

5-person teams, a battle of wits starting with meticulous role division

This is serious. They're threatening to spread my grades for not just my parents but everyone in the world to see!
You are the 'white hacker team' urgently assembled to protect the classroom.
Students form teams of 5, each taking on specific roles as team leader, brain, communicator, supporter, and recorder.

This game simultaneously uses the Realworld app and offline kits, filled with extraordinary problems that can only be solved by decoding the periodic table or boldly writing on the provided kits.

Particularly, using augmented reality (AR) technology, when you shine your smartphone, hidden airplane runways appear, and various immersive technologies enhance the game's engagement, such as finding hidden codes in PROJECT: LET YOUR DREAMS FLY HIGH.

"You thought it was competition? The answer is 'together'"

At the beginning of the game, students fiercely compete to solve problems faster than other teams. However, to open the final stage 'TOP SECRET' file, they face a shocking twist. They discover that the mission cannot be completed by individual effort alone, and the game can only be finished by helping other team members and sharing information.

The password fragments that each team worked hard to obtain actually only have meaning when combined with pieces from other teams.

"WIN TOGETHER"

Eventually, students realize:
This isn't a game where you win by excelling alone,
but one where everyone can only win by sharing information with neighboring teams and helping each other.

The conclusion of 〈Hacking Defense〉 goes beyond simple problem-solving,
it was a time to learn with the heart, not the head, about
'Collective Impact' -
that the key to problem-solving becomes visible when I extend my hand first.

Move your Butt!
Get your butt off the desk and now you need to meet each other!

Teacher Kim Ji-hyeon from Ohyeon High says that education where students get up from their seats, communicate with each other, and put their heads together to solve problems, rather than sitting alone and listening passively, is the core element needed in all schools in Korea today.

So Teacher Kim Ji-hyeon expresses this education like this:

"Move your butt."

This phrase doesn't simply mean 'move your buttocks.'
It's a call to move your body,
move your thoughts, and move your heart.

In an era when AI finds answers fastest,
how much knowledge you have is no longer the decisive competitive advantage.

What matters now is
the power to read and empathize with others' emotions,
the attitude to cooperate and communicate in conflict situations,
and the opportunity to make oneself question why this problem is important.

This is precisely why social-emotional learning (SEL) and timely education
are most important in Korean education in the AI era.

"Move your butt"
This is a declaration to shift the center of class from knowledge to people,
from correct answers to experiences.

From sitting and listening education
to education where we move and feel, think together and grow.
The change needed in Korean classrooms right now
starts right here!

Realworld aims to create various school-based innovative education programs not only for Jeju Ohyeon High School but also for elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide.
