Paris First Story: A magical experience unfolding at the historically rich Opéra Garnier, Inside Opera!

Ah!~ #Paris ~!
When you think of Paris, you imagine elegant classic buildings and the beautiful city where #Art Deco* style stands out, which I studied during my school days!
* What is Art Deco? One of the design styles characterized by rich colors, geometric patterns, and luxurious decorations
If you ask "How much of this beautiful city, Paris, have you explored?" everyone would answer like this:
#Eiffel Tower! #Arc de Triomphe! #Notre Dame! #Montmartre!
That's also the real Paris. But!!! To truly! truly! truly experience and feel Paris, wouldn't it be more moving if you knew the breathing history of that place?!
So I did crazy internet surfing to find Paris outdoor or outdoor-style escape games.
Actually, we found an enormous list, but the longer the business trip gets, the more work piles up like a mountain...ㅠㅠ So we had to give up...
So!!!
Three carefully selected programs: 1. Inside Opera, 2. ClueZ, 3. Immersive Theatre!
(Actually, there weren't that many programs that supported English versions...=ㅅ=heh... For the differences between these three, please refer to the first story link at the top~!)
The carefully selected second program, ClueZ!
ClueZ describes their program like this:
Become a detective and discover Paris's history in a fun way!
ClueZ, a treasure hunt that can be done in central Paris, lets you discover famous and secret places.
Using a tablet, you become a detective, investigating specific areas and finding clues.
ClueZ combines tourist attractions and outdoor escape games.
It can be a new form of visit to discover Paris's hidden places.
Oh... Just hearing about it makes me excited... It's my first time in Paris... Am I going to encounter amazing places right from my first time in Paris?! Heh...=ㅅ=haha
We booked two programs offered by ClueZ: Le Marais and Latin Quarter!
After booking, we got a call... First Korean participants! First participants to play two games in one day! They were amazed, and we were amazed too hahaha
Running two rounds in one day was an enormous challenge for my delicate body... I never imagined we'd walk this much...
Have you ever walked 30,000 steps in a day...
Now... let's start from how to experience ClueZ to the review!
If I miss even one word, it won't be fun?? Please read... everything...?!ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Now let's go meet the "real Paris"!
Review: Roaming Paris alleys with ClueZ!
Le Marais: Poisonings Affair / Latin Quarter: The Alchemists
Le Marais at 10 AM! Latin Quarter at 3 PM!
My hardworking body running two rounds in one day... =ㅅ=.... Wow... over 30,000 steps in one day...=ㅅ=....wow...wow....
The morning program in the Marais district:
<<Le Marais: Poisonings Affair>>
Enter the 17th-century Marais!
Find all the secrets and solve a 100-year-old investigation!
July 14th, French Revolution Day, when the wind was blowing fiercely!
We met ClueZ staff in front of Saint-Paul Church in the Marais district! They took out information boards and tablets from their bags and explained how to proceed!
(So kind, so kind ♥)
Actually, we went with huge expectations thinking there would be a kit,
but there was no separate kit, only tablets. They should have at least put an anti-glare film on it... It was hard to see because of the severe light reflection on the screen while viewing together ㅠㅠ
(This wasn't kind...ㅠㅠ)
Now that we've received the tablets, we should start, right?
(GPS map explanation will be covered in the Latin Quarter program below! So don't close it and keep scrolling down as you were doing....continuously...)
Charge! Forward!
[French history encountered in the alleys of Paris, Marais]
The tablet shows a map of the Marais district, helping us find the first location by looking at that map.
The map location was surprisingly accurate, so we wandered around thinking "GPS is pretty good?"...
We really looked around frantically and were able to meet historical places in Paris's Marais district.
We'll share that experience through the video below :)
Looking at the video, there was really much more moving around than actually solving quests.
Actually, the Marais district quest seemed to be all about finding things at the location and entering them rather than solving problems.
So we learned a lot of history about what this place used to be called and what kind of place it was.
Ah..... I thought I was going to die from exhaustion...ㅠ_ㅠ... We really walked an enormous amount.
If it had been travel instead of work, even taking wrong turns would have been a series of surprises, but since we were pressed for time, it was a series of anxiety and exhaustion..ㅠㅠ
Still, this was manageable... The afternoon Latin Quarter was really :) just makes me laugh....
The afternoon program in the Latin Quarter district:
<<Latin Quarter: The Alchemists>>
Alchemy can be defined as "a series of practices and speculations related to metal transformation."
Come to the Latin Quarter and discover this mysterious science!
In the afternoon, it was originally supposed to start at 2, but we were contacted asking if we could start at 3 instead because there might be another team joining.
So the time was pushed back, and we immediately moved to the Latin Quarter district. It took about 15 minutes by bus from the Marais district.
After having lunch there, it was quickly 3 o'clock.... If it had started at 2, we might have had to rush before finishing our lunch...
Playing two games in one day was definitely not easy....ㅋ
So we arrived at Collège de France to meet the staff! As soon as we arrived, we received tablets and proceeded with the program in the same way!~ :)
The ClueZ program in the Latin Quarter: The Alchemists started right here. Collège de France!
And there were many universities in this area. It was a university district... So I thought that's why they came up with the alchemist concept. Since it's an area where academia is concentrated.
(Wow... Looking at the photos brings back memories of the weather that day. It suddenly became cloudy and was incredibly cold ㅠㅠ)
Now let's start!~ Let's conquer Paris Latin Quarter!>ㅅ<
When you start playing with ClueZ's tablet,
The black dot● shows our current location and moves with us as we move.
(As mentioned earlier, it moves really precisely. (Wow~~))
The red spot● shows the location where we need to move to solve missions.
And the brown star-marked spots● indicate attractions(?) worth seeing nearby. Clicking the spot icon shows descriptions of the places.
But there's no time to look around at those... We only have 2 hours to complete the missions!!
Because we have to go back and forth over a distance of more than 2.3km solving missions. Still, you'll find yourself playing without noticing time passing.
Paris really seems to be a place with tireless beauty :)♥
In that tireless beauty, here are 3 places where we got crazy lost!(ㅋ)
These places became very challenging due to our lack of understanding of French history, philosophers, scientists, and musicians.
Actually, looking at just the problems, I thought "This isn't much?" But alphabet numbers of philosophers' names, written birth years, etc...
I think it was a history education program that required understanding history and figures to solve.
[Understanding cultural differences]
I also thought it might be a cultural difference.
In Korea and Japan, quests are about creatively interpreting and solving problems,
but in France, the problems weren't difficult but required understanding their meaning to solve.
So suddenly I thought of the college entrance exam!
If Korea's college entrance exam is checking answers in multiple choice format, I heard France's exam (baccalauréat) is essay format.
Unlike Korea where you solve problems and get correct answers, this French program was designed to make you understand every place and France itself.
Like this, ClueZ's outdoor escape game that creates time to learn about France! (This must have been the intention, right?) Praise, praise, clap clap clap!~
We'll also share those frantic problem-solving moments in the Latin Quarter area through video :)
(It took longer and was more tiring... but why... is the video shorter....ㅋㅋㅋ Maybe we couldn't film much because it was so hard hahahaha)
Hahaha, did you see at the end of the video?
The phrase "What a pity..."....=ㅅ=
Yes... that's right. The app forcibly terminated us due to time over.
* ClueZ programs are set for 2 hours, so when time runs out, a screen with a failure message automatically appears.
We almost reached the last problem....ㅠ_ㅠ Still, our team gives ourselves applause for finding all locations and trying to understand each problem one by one.
We did our best. We did our best.
When I asked the staff about this program's success rate, they said it's less than 30%....=ㅅ=....
(I wasn't stupid.......heh...ha...ha)
[Finishing with photos!]
When the program ends safely like this, we take photos together :)
It's no secret that the photos taken are posted on their Instagram! =ㅅ=hehe
[Wrapping up the review]
Except for being a bit cold due to bad weather, I think it was good to see Paris's hidden places.
However, since Inside Opera from the previous day was such a great experience, it wasn't easy to surpass that experience.
Also, since there are no additional items (kits) provided besides the tablet during play, I feel disappointed that there's nothing tangible left behind.
As expected, I think the greatest value of such programs is <experience>.
Because someone like me who had zero understanding of France got to know the historical figures who created their history and learned about their culture! :)
Realworld vs ClueZ
Comparison points between Realworld and ClueZ and thoughts on what kind of immersive experience to create
Realworld's strength lies in more diverse forms of quests and experiences, while ClueZ's strength was in making us feel the city of Paris better.
We also provide historical information, but we don't provide information about every location like ClueZ's tablet.
However, Realworld's advantage is that there's no time limit for play, so it doesn't feel one-time-only.
And there's also the special device called a kit that you can keep.
We're currently planning projects that can handle both Korean and English.
To leave new experiences and memories of Korea for foreign tourists! And to create opportunities to show Koreans the preciousness and uniqueness of Korea :)
We'll share news about our ongoing projects through Facebook, Instagram, and blogs.
Please show lots of interest in Realworld, which will become more diverse and valuable.
Don't miss Paris's third story and be sure to read it!
