A performance where the audience takes the lead and becomes the protagonist of the story is coming. Interactive content platform Realworld announced that ticket reservations for the immersive theater <Hotel Pygmalion> will begin on September 13.
Immersive theater refers to a form of performance that eliminates the boundary between the audience and stage, allowing audiences to complete the story through interactions with actors. Immersive theaters like New York's 'Sleep No More' and Tokyo's 'Immersive Fort Tokyo' have established themselves as global performance trends, and they are gradually increasing in Korea as well.
<Hotel Pygmalion> is a mystery sci-fi genre set in the near future of 2044, featuring events that unfold at the opening ceremony of the hotel 'Pygmalion' of the same name. Audiences must complete the mission of finding androids that have escaped system control, and can approach the truth of the incident through interactions with actors.
For the performance, six actors including Lee Dong-yoon, Jeon Ju-il, Oh Ja-song, Kim Song-hyun, Jo Tae-young, and Lee Gi-chun were cast through fierce competition and are currently in final preparations.
Ticket reservations will be available through Naver Booking starting September 13, with a limited capacity of 20 people per show. With the limited number of participants, audiences are expected to have more intensive interaction experiences with the actors.
<Hotel Pygmalion> will be performed at 'Realworld Seongsu' located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul from October 2 to November 1, 2024, with a total of 30 shows scheduled. Performances will run from Wednesday to Sunday, excluding Mondays and Tuesdays, with one show per day. (However, two shows are scheduled every Friday and on October 30 and 31)
<Hotel Pygmalion> was selected for the 2024 Arts Sector Startup Leap Support Project by the Arts Management Support Center under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with MYSC as the supervising organization.
