Hello. This is Realworld. The 'Does This Actually Work?' series is running with the catchphrase 'Delivering all the fun in this world!' Today, we're here with the first episode on the topic 'Challenging the Guinness World Record with treasure hunting?'
Aren't you curious about the fun and informative trend news delivered by UniqueGood's adorable MC Yuhyeon and experience trend expert Storm (Song Inhyeok, CEO of UniqueGood Company)? Then stay tuned to our channel!
The long-awaited first topic is 'treasure hunting'! Some of you might already be sighing in disappointment, but once you learn that treasure hunting has recently become a new entertainment trend, you'll change your mind.
Is the world experiencing a treasure hunting craze?
But why is there a treasure hunting craze happening right now?
Actually, treasure hunting has been something we've enjoyed in our daily lives for a while. However, it became a trend starting with the COVID-19 pandemic. Treasure hunting was a perfect model for entertainment that could be enjoyed without contact. Moreover, recent treasure hunting services are enhancing participants' experience levels by incorporating immersive technologies like NFC/AR/GPS.
In an overseas service called Geocaching, participants hide real treasures, and other participants find them, verify their discovery, and write down the date and their names. With Geocaching having 20 million users and 5 million treasures found, we can't simply dismiss it as just treasure hunting, right?
Another example is Sqkii's 'Hunt The Mouse' campaign set across Singapore. People participating in this campaign posted verification videos on TikTok, and amazingly, 1.8 million posts were registered in just one month!
Treasure hunting challenging the Guinness Book of Records
In Ottawa, Canada's capital, a treasure hunting event was held in 2017 with 2,372 participants, and this record has been the Guinness World Record until now. However, UniqueGood Company challenged this record with the 'Real Treasure Festival' held at the former Gyeonggi Province government building site in November 2023.
When UniqueGood Company opened pre-registration for the treasure hunting event, over 5,000 people applied. So they thought, since they were already hosting an event, why not challenge the Guinness World Record?
The 'Real Treasure Festival' is based on Realworld's treasure hunting solution 'Real Treasure Hunter,' which provides a sustainable treasure hunting experience by incorporating technologies like AR/NFC. Plus, with the fun of accumulating points and competing with other hunters, participants would want to keep searching for treasures, wouldn't they?
And here's a fun fact: while we were worried about children running around, the adults actually ran around more!
A treasure hunting solution that revitalizes spaces
The former Gyeonggi Provincial Government building where the Real Treasure Festival was held had become a ghost space that nobody visited after the provincial government moved to its new building. However, this treasure hunting solution increased visitor traffic and contributed to regional revitalization!
Realworld plans to apply the treasure hunting solution to even more diverse locations. If you're operating spaces like exhibition halls, museums, or schools, or if you want to create fun campaigns with people, please remember this 'Real Treasure' solution.
Realworld's 'Does This Actually Work?' will return with even more fun and informative topics!
Thank you.
