Introducing Realworld's 'Lost Soldier', a veterans affairs content experienced by the UK Scout delegation at the Jamboree.

Hello. I'm WHY, a content planner at Realworld. There has been a lot of news recently about the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree, and we at Realworld have received some unexpected news. We learned that the British Scout delegation, which decided to leave early, will be visiting the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul as part of their upcoming schedule to experience 'Lost Soldier,' an immersive Korean War game content. Given this, I thought many people would be curious about 'Lost Soldier,' so I'd like to provide a brief explanation.

Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs X Realworld: 'Lost Soldier'
'Lost Soldier' is patriotic-themed content from the veterans campaign 'Memory Cinema,' jointly developed by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Realworld. 'Memory Cinema' consists of three mission games designed to help people easily and enjoyably experience the history of patriotism and the spirit of our ancestors in everyday life. In addition to 'Lost Soldier,' 'If Freedom Disappeared from This World' (democracy theme) and '1937' (independence theme) are also currently operating successfully.

Becoming the protagonist of your story amidst the flames of war
The War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul is known as Asia's largest military museum. It has extensive space and diverse exhibits. How can we provide meaningful and memorable experiences for visitors to this place?

Museums and memorial halls are still grappling with this challenge. They operate various programs such as stamp tours and providing explanations through docents. However, Realworld decided to take a different approach: providing an experience where visitors become the protagonists of the story.

Participants become a soldier who has lost their memory during fierce battles of the Korean War and awakens in the War Memorial. The only remaining clues are a notebook and pocket watch in their hands. What awaits at the end of the journey to recover lost memories? This curiosity drives participants to the very end of the mission. This is what we call the power of storytelling.

To complete missions, participants must combine clues from the notebook (kit) with information from various exhibits in the exhibition hall. This means they have to carefully examine exhibits they might have just passed by before. As they say, you see as much as you know. After experiencing 'Lost Soldier,' the War Memorial will look different than before.

Maximizing immersion with cutting-edge immersive technology
Along with the dense storyline, Realworld's cutting-edge immersive technology maximizes participant engagement. BGM played within the app heightens tension, while interactive technologies like AR (Augmented Reality) and haptic feedback help participants become even more absorbed in the story.

I've included a related video to help with understanding. However, please note that such immersive technology is much more impactful when experienced directly on-site rather than just watching sample videos. Through the combination of story and technology, participants truly become protagonists in the narrative, allowing the meaning of patriotism to be conveyed as well.

Conveying the meaning of patriotism to foreign tourists
The Korean War was not just a war between South and North Korea. We were able to preserve liberal democracy thanks to the help of 22 UN member nations. Many foreign tourists visit the War Memorial as it honors these participating countries, and 'Lost Soldier' conveys the meaning of patriotism to them as well. This was possible because we created both Korean and English versions simultaneously.

The UK, to which this Scout delegation belongs, sent the second-largest number of troops after the United States during the Korean War. This 'Lost Soldier' experience was likely arranged with this significance in mind. I conclude with the hope that the British Scout members will remember the dedication of their own country's war veterans and cherish the meaning of patriotism through 'Lost Soldier.'
