and we really want to share them with those looking for unique Jeju experiences.
Painful stories hidden in a peaceful Jeju village
Jeju April 3rd Storytelling Tour <The Nameless Mermaid Story>
<The Nameless Mermaid Story> is a storytelling tour content based on the Jeju April 3rd Incident.
The Bukchon Port area, which serves as the backdrop for the content, was a quiet village unlike other Jeju tourist destinations.
Rather than the bustling Jeju,
it felt like glimpsing into Jeju's daily life?
The cool sea breeze brought out Jeju's unique atmosphere.
But actually, this peaceful-looking village
hides a tragic story.
While playing <The Nameless Mermaid Story>,
which begins like a fairy tale,
we planners gradually discovered the truth that unfolds.
What was most shocking was
the moment we realized we were experiencing
the actual locations where real events took place.
Unlike one-way guided tours,
Realworld content lets you travel as the protagonist of the story.
Perhaps that's why the immersion was so intense,
and our hearts began to ache...
These were emotions that could only be felt
by directly walking through and experiencing that area.
The planners finished at the final location, Neobeunsungi April 3rd Memorial Hall, then returned to Bukchon Port fishing shop where the game started, and went to experience the <Haenyeo's Kitchen Bukchon Branch> content just nearby.
The fusion of media art and dining, <Haenyeo's Kitchen Bukchon Branch>
Unlike the main branch which features theatrical performances,
Haenyeo's Kitchen Bukchon Branch combines media art with heartfelt Jeju cuisine.
The curved walls of the space
made Jeju's nature, which the media art aimed to express,
feel even more vivid!
Actually, I was initially curious about why they opened a media art branch in Bukchon Port.
But that curiosity was soon resolved.
The mysterious deep sea, the pristine island of Daryeodo, caves where residents took refuge during the April 3rd Incident
Though located in Bukchon Port, they took us to places we couldn't easily visit ourselves
through realistic storytelling and media art!
In Jeju's way, with a haenyeo's heart
The food served alongside the stories
was surprisingly delicious!
It really felt like tasting a haenyeo's meal.
They shared stories of Jeju related to the ingredients
through cards filled with sincerity.
The haenyeo auntie even personally sliced delicious pork for us ㅎㅎ
We spent truly unforgettable time
amid the carefully prepared meals
and haenyeo stories we'd never known before.
After completing the Haenyeo's Kitchen experience,
the planners unanimously agreed:
'We truly experienced Jeju. It was really a special experience.'
Why did these two pieces of content feel so special?
It's probably for the following reasons.
Content that's sincere about Jeju's stories
and offers unprecedented unique experiences
Both <The Nameless Mermaid Story> and <Haenyeo's Kitchen>
were content that let us experience deep Jeju stories—
the island's painful history, haenyeo's profound tales—
rather than the glamorous and beautiful Jeju we usually know.
Moreover,
through engaging stories,
delicious cuisine, and mesmerizing media art,
they told Jeju's stories in ways
that felt fresh and immersive.
In post-pandemic travel,
people will travel more consciously,
thinking about regions and the environment.
We've resolved to continue delivering
not content you can see anywhere,
but stories that only each specific region holds,
in Realworld's unique way.
