Hello! We are Realworld, the playable content platform. 2025 is a meaningful year as it marks the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation! Last March, Realworld partnered with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to prepare a special journey walking through various parts of Seoul, following in the footsteps of our ancestors who dedicated their lives to our nation's independence. The special event to kick off the 'Korea Memorial Road,' a Korean patriotic pilgrimage route that practices honoring veterans in daily life, was successfully completed.
The 'Korea Memorial Road' opening event was conducted using Realworld's Treasure solution, featuring 3 routes in 'Korea Memorial Road, Seoul': Route 1 in the Jongno area <The Cry of March 1st>, Route 2 in the Seodaemun area <Toward Liberation>, and Route 3 in the Namsan area <Steps of Dreams>. Participants could collect treasures and receive various rewards while walking these routes.
Notably, the treasures were designed as 'digital stamps' so participants could collect our history and memories, creating a stamp tour that combined digital and analog elements. Shall we take a closer look at the 'Korea Memorial Road Opening Event' program, which was redesigned as a digital stamp tour format for walking through Seoul's historic locations?
Three Routes, Three Stories
Seoul, the first city of the 'Korea Memorial Road' launched in 2025, opened on March 1st and was planned as a route where visitors can learn about the traces of numerous independence activists who marched toward liberation, starting with Route 1 that includes places where the March 1st Movement of 1919 can be remembered. Based on this, the colors and images of the digital stamps that can be acquired on each route were composed with meanings based on red, blue, and black from the Korean flag.
Route 1. The Cry of March 1st (Jongno Area)
<We declare today that Korea is an independent nation and that Koreans are the masters of this nation.> Route 1, which follows 6 locations where the March 1st Independence Declaration was printed and distributed on March 1, 1919, and proclaimed by the 33 national representatives, igniting the independence movement, was designed in the shape of the taegeuk symbol representing the March 1st Movement where people held Korean flags and shouted.
Route 2. Toward Liberation (Seodaemun Area)
Route 2, which follows 6 locations including the National Memorial of Korean Provisional Government where you can learn about the Korean Provisional Government established through the March 1st Movement, Seodaemun Prison History Hall where the tears of numerous independence activists linger, and places where you can feel the moments of marching toward liberation, was designed in the shape of the mugunghwa (hibiscus), which independence activists used as a symbol of resistance, meaning eternal and endless.
Route 3. Steps of Dreams (Namsan Area)
Route 3, which follows 6 locations including Baekbeom Square, the statue of Seongjae Lee Si-young, and the An Jung-geun Memorial Hall, where you can follow the footsteps of great figures who sacrificed their lives for independence as they moved toward the dream of liberation, was designed in the shape of Korea's national flag, the Taegeukgi, to symbolize that everyone's dreams came together to create today's Republic of Korea.
Digital Stamp Tour,
Experiencing Places Through the Fusion of Digital and Analog
The 'Korea Memorial Road' opening event, conducted as a digital stamp tour, went beyond a simple stamp tour and used digital technology to make experiences at historic locations more vivid. Participants used GPS to find each location, solved related quizzes to complete missions, and collected digital stamps, allowing them to feel both fun and meaning simultaneously.
Additionally, by fusing with analog stamps, special rewards were provided to remember the 'Korea Memorial Road'! Seoul's 3 routes were also linked with the offline event 'Liberation 80 Korea Memorial Road in Seoul,' providing participants with a passport-style stamp book called 'Bobo Passport' on the day of the event, and specially made stamps commemorating the locations of Seoul Routes 1-3 were stamped and provided.
Walking Together, Remembering Together
The 'Korea Memorial Road' opening event, which was the first step, was a program that allowed us to reflect on the meaning of honoring veterans. In particular, the memories collected through digital stamps can go beyond simple records and become an opportunity to continue the story. Realworld Treasure in this digital stamp tour format can be applied to various locations and environments. How about introducing Realworld's Treasure solution, which can provide fun, meaning, and unique experiences beyond traditional analog methods?
